Check In/Check Out
Articles and content can only be edited by one administrator at a time.  Sometimes, an article will remain checked out.  Click here to Check-in all articles if an article is locked, and you are certain another user is not editing.

Add/Edit Content

Editing Pages
To edit a page (also called an "article"), navigate to the page and click on the "edit" icon (edit icon), located below the editable content.  The editing interface


Sidebar and Header Content
Content in the sidebars, headers, and footers is automatically generated .  To edit areas outside of a page's main body, contact an administrator with knowledge of the site's structure and back-end access.


News (Blog) Articles
To add a news article (also called a "blog post"), click here.


Newsletter
Remember that a MailChimp newsletter will be sent to all subscribers at 5PM on any day that news is added to the website/blog.

Add/Edit Documents

Documents (PDFs, Excel, Word, and others) can be displayed on the website using several techniques, depending on the use and intent.


In the body of an article
Documents can be inserted when editing an article using the "insert document" function ( edit file icon click this icon in the editor). 


As an "attachment"
An "attachment" is a document that is attached to an individual page or article. Attachments are be displayed on the same page in a table at the bottom of the main content (example, Agendas).  This is the simplest and fastest method for placing a document on an individual page.  The user can choose what text should be displayed in the document attachment link, and can easily edit or delete the attachment if necessary.  Click add attachment icon at the bottom of any article.


Agendas
Use the "attachment" function, above.  Agendas are typically added monthly, and deleted once a meeting's minutes are posted.


Minutes
Navigate to the page for the surrent year.  When logged in, there is an "Upload Files" above the list of files and folders.  Click this to upload to the current folder.

Smoke Detector Program

The Southern Marin Fire District (SMFD) sponsors a program whereby residents of SMFD can get a free smoke detector and have it installed in their home at no charge by firefighters. If you are a resident of SMFD, live in a single family dwelling and do not currently have a working smoke detector, you are eligible to receive a new smoke detector installed for free.
